834 Literary Girl Names

You are here: Home / Names / Baby Names / Girl Name Lists / 834 Literary Girl Names

Literature captivates our minds and helps us understand who we are. Many of us met our first friends between the pages of a book, and we have favorites that we turn to again and again. Giving your daughter a literary name can be a very meaningful way to honor her by choosing a character who embodies the qualities you value most.

Why Choose a Literary Girl Name?

Literature has been a part of our culture for centuries. We pass down stories through the generations and remix them to keep them modern and fresh. Giving your daughter a name inspired by a literary heroine or protagonist connects her to the values those characters embody.

Often, literary names remind us of the characters that carried them. They are seen as adventurous, brave, honorable, and honest. If you give your daughter one of these names, you will provide her with the positive connotations associated with the name. In addition, many literary names have a timeless quality. Since they have been passed down through the stories they inhabit, the characters in literature tend to remain recognizable and familiar outside of their own era. These names can come across as classic and always in style.
