Water is the source of our lives, a part of our own bodies, and a force of power as well as a symbol of calm. It’s a magnificent part of our world and our collective stories, and giving your daughter a water name can be an excellent way to tap into these vast pools of meaning.
Why Choose a Water-Related Girl Name?
Water has long been associated with power and beauty. Many superhero and super-heroine names are associated with water, and it is also a category of Zodiac signs. The three water signs are Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. All of these associations demonstrate just how vital water is to us. Not just biologically but also creatively. We are drawn to the force of water and see the beauty in what it can produce, from calm waves lapping a seashore to a raging waterfall and icicles hanging from a porch front.
When you give your daughter a water name, you associate her with these positive connotations. You are sending the message that she is calm, important, vital, and beautiful. Those associated with water are often seen as peaceful and gentle, while also being strong and capable.
